Ansept Construction is a growing general contractor delivering residential, commercial, multifamily, and design-build projects across Western Canada. We are hiring an experienced Journeyman Carpenter to serve as the senior trade professional on-site, responsible for setting and maintaining the quality standard across all carpentry scopes while mentoring foremen, apprentices, and labourers. This role extends beyond individual execution. The successful candidate takes pride in their craft and is motivated to elevate the skill and output of those around them.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the on-site technical authority for all carpentry scopes, from layout through to punch list completion, ensuring workmanship meets company and project standards.
- Execute complex installations including custom trim, precision flooring transitions, and window and door packages, maintaining a high standard of accuracy and finish quality.
- Mentor and develop crew members, including apprentices, labourers, and foremen, by providing hands-on instruction, technique demonstrations, and real-time quality coaching.
- Review project drawings proactively to identify potential conflicts, coordination issues, or material requirements before they impact the schedule or result in change orders.
- Collaborate with the Site Superintendent on scope planning, daily progress, and resource needs to support efficient project delivery.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area at all times and ensure tools and materials are properly stored and accounted for at the end of each day.
- Identify and report safety hazards, material shortages, or workmanship issues to the Site Superintendent or Project Manager promptly.
- Comply with all site safety standards, OH&S requirements, and PPE protocols at all times.
- Perform any additional tasks assigned by the Site Superintendent or Project Manager as required.
