Ansept Construction was founded in 2020 by Imad Matar. The idea took shape during lunch breaks, where Imad and a colleague regularly traded ideas about entrepreneurship and what they wanted to build in the future. His colleague envisioned launching a chain of retail stores in Edmonton, while Imad had his sights set on starting a construction company. Those conversations became the starting point, turning a simple lunch-break idea into what is now Ansept Construction.

Select Corp was one of Ansept Construction’s earliest major partners. From launch, Ansept delivered multiple retail buildouts across Edmonton, helping bring the brand to life. That relationship remains active today.

In 2023, Ameer Abou-Zeki joined as Partner and Chief Operating Officer; with Imad and Ameer’s strategic vision and execution, Ansept continued to expand into new markets across Western Canada.
