The Role

Ansept Construction is seeking Site Superintendents to take full ownership of project sites from mobilization through to handover. As the senior on-site authority, you are responsible for trade coordination, safety enforcement, schedule management, and quality assurance, ensuring that field operations run efficiently and that the Project Manager has full confidence in what is happening on the ground.

We are hiring across multiple locations in Western Canada. You will select your preferred location when you apply, and we will match you to active and upcoming projects in that region.

Available Locations

• Edmonton, Alberta

• Fort McMurray, Alberta

• Winnipeg, Manitoba

• Prince Albert, Saskatchewan

Select your preferred location(s) in the application form. If you are open to multiple sites or willing to travel, let us know, flexibility is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all on-site operations from mobilization through project handover, serving as the highest-ranking field authority and primary point of accountability for daily site activities.

• Coordinate and schedule all trades on-site, ensuring each subcontractor and crew is positioned correctly and that daily, weekly, and 3-week look-ahead schedules are maintained and communicated.

• Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, verify workmanship quality, and identify issues before they impact the schedule or require rework.

• Enforce all site safety standards and regulations, ensuring compliance across all personnel, subcontractors, and visitors.

• Proactively manage schedule risks by identifying delays early, developing recovery options, and communicating solutions, not just problems, to the Project Manager.

• Prepare and coordinate for all required inspections, ensuring work is inspection-ready and that pass rates reflect consistent quality oversight throughout the project.

• Submit complete daily site logs including progress documentation, crew counts, subcontractor activity, weather conditions, progress photos, and any issues or variances, ensuring the Project Manager has full visibility without requiring follow-up.

What We Offer

• Competitive salary aligned with your experience and the projects you can handle.

• A diverse project portfolio: residential renovations, commercial builds, restoration, and cross-province work.

• Autonomy. We hire Superintendents so we don’t have to micromanage sites. You run your site, and we support you.

• A direct path to senior leadership as Ansept continues to grow across Western Canada.

• A company that invests in its field leaders and doesn’t treat them as interchangeable.

You Must Have (Non-Negotiable)

• Minimum 5 years of construction experience, with at least 2 years as a Superintendent or senior site supervisor managing complete project sites (not just a single trade).

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple trades, manage subcontractors, and maintain a project schedule.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings.

• Working knowledge of applicable provincial OH&S legislation and building codes for your region.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Nice to Have (But Not Required)

• Experience managing both residential renovation/restoration and commercial construction projects.

• Experience on projects ranging from under $500K to $10M+.

• Current safety certifications (WHMIS, CSTS, First Aid, or regional equivalents).

• Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Archdesk, or similar).

• Gold Seal or equivalent construction management designation.

• Experience developing foremen into stronger leaders.

This Role Is Not Right for You If…

We respect your time. If any of the following apply, this probably isn’t the right fit, but we’d encourage you to check our other openings.

✖ You’ve only supervised a single trade crew (e.g., your own carpentry team). We need someone who manages entire sites with multiple concurrent trades.

✖ You can’t describe how you create and manage a project schedule. Our Supers own the site schedule, not just follow it.

✖ You’re not comfortable with daily documentation and reporting. If it isn’t written down, it didn’t happen.

✖ You don’t have working knowledge of the OH&S legislation and building codes in your region. You don’t have to be a lawyer, but you need to know the rules.
