Working Foreman - Restoration & Abatement
Full Time
Apply NowRestoTech Solutions is an emergency mitigation, restoration, and abatement company serving residential, commercial, and insurance-driven projects across Alberta and Saskatchewan. We're hiring a Working Foreman to lead crews on restoration and abatement job sites - from water damage mitigation and mould remediation to asbestos containment and reconstruction support. This is a hands-on leadership role: you're working alongside your crew while making sure the job is executed safely, documented properly, and completed to the standard that insurance adjusters, inspectors, and clients expect. If you've led crews in restoration, abatement, or construction and you want to grow with a company that's scaling fast, keep reading.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead crew mobilization for emergency response calls — water loss, mold, and abatement — including after-hours and weekend call-outs. Coordinate with the Operations Manager on scope, assign crew roles, and ensure equipment and materials are loaded and staged before departing for site.
- Serve as the on-site supervisor for all active projects. Direct technicians through extraction, drying, containment, and remediation tasks. Ensure all work is executed in accordance with RestoTech SOPs, IICRC standards, and applicable OH&S requirements at all times.
- Conduct and document the Field Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA) at the start of each shift. Lead site-specific toolbox talks, obtain required crew sign-offs, and enforce PPE and safe work procedures throughout the duration of each project.
- Establish and maintain containment barriers and negative air pressure environments on mold and abatement scopes. Verify containment integrity before and during work. Oversee air scrubber and HEPA equipment setup and operation in compliance with IICRC S520 and applicable environmental regulations.
- Oversee water extraction, structural drying, and moisture monitoring operations. Set equipment placement based on site conditions, conduct daily moisture readings at all monitoring points, and update dry logs accurately in the field management system.
- Manage all site documentation in real time: FLHAs, moisture logs, progress photos, equipment placement records, daily reports, and labour tracking. Documentation must be complete, accurate, and submitted before leaving each site — it directly supports insurance claims and regulatory compliance.
- Perform quality control checks throughout each project phase. Identify scope deviations, workmanship issues, or safety concerns, and escalate to the Operations Manager with clear documentation before they affect the project timeline or outcome.
- Coordinate with the Operations Manager on scope changes, material requirements, subcontractor scheduling, and project timelines. Communicate daily site status and flag emerging issues proactively.
- Conduct site walk-throughs and final checks before equipment demobilization. Confirm containment removal, site cleaning, and clearance preparation meet project specifications and client expectations.
- Mentor and direct Restoration Technicians on field tasks, documentation standards, and safe work practices. Provide on-site guidance and support crew development through hands-on leadership.
- Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in proper working order. Conduct pre-trip inspections, report deficiencies promptly, and ensure all equipment leaving the warehouse is accounted for and in operational condition.
What We Offer
- Competitive pay based on experience and certifications, plus overtime and after-hours premiums.
- Paid training and certification programs - IICRC, asbestos abatement, and safety courses provided.
- A clear career path: high-performing Foremen at RestoTech advance into Site Supervisor, Senior Supervisor, and Operations roles.
- Real, high-impact work - you're leading crews on emergency response and environmental remediation projects, not doing the same thing every day.
- Strong operational support from the office and management team - you're not on your own.
- A growing company with structured workflows, clear expectations, and investment in its people.
You Must Have (Non-Negotiable)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in restoration, abatement, construction, or emergency mitigation, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong understanding of job site safety and OH&S requirements - you lead FLHAs, toolbox talks, and safety compliance, not just follow them.
- Ability to lead crews of 2-6 technicians and manage on-site operations independently.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills - timesheets, daily logs, FLHAs, moisture readings, and site reports must be accurate and on time.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, emergency-response environments with variable hours including after-hours call-outs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel within Alberta and Saskatchewan as required.
Nice to Have (But Not Required)
- IICRC certifications (WRT, ASD, AMRT, FSRT, or others).
- Asbestos abatement training and hands-on experience.
- First Aid / CPR certification.
- Experience working on insurance-driven projects (understanding documentation standards for claims).
- Experience with containment setup, air monitoring, and environmental compliance.
- Experience with water extraction, structural drying, and monitoring equipment.
Candidates without certifications are welcome to apply. RestoTech provides paid training and certification opportunities for the right people.
This Role Is Not Right for You If...
We respect your time. If any of the following apply, this probably isn't the right fit - but we'd encourage you to check our other openings.
- You can't work variable hours or respond to after-hours call-outs. Restoration and abatement work operates on emergency timelines, not 9-to-5.
- You've never supervised a crew. This role requires leading technicians, not just working alongside them.
- You're not comfortable with documentation. Every job requires accurate FLHAs, daily logs, moisture readings, timesheets, and safety sign-offs.
- You can't travel. This role covers projects across Alberta and Saskatchewan, sometimes on short notice.
- You're not comfortable working in hazardous environments. Restoration and abatement involves water damage, mould, asbestos, and confined spaces with proper PPE and protocols.
- You’re not comfortable using mobile apps on a phone or tablet. All field documentation — FLHAs, moisture logs, daily reports, photo records, and timesheets — is completed digitally through company-provided apps. Paper forms are not standard issue, and app usage is a requirement of the role, not a preference.
